How Does Biden’s Plan Affect Us?

Image
Boston Globe.com President Joe Biden has introduced a $2.2 trillion budget for his job plan. It seems as though he is not wasting any time. But first, we will see the most primary issue: the transportation that entails road safety, bridges, commutes, etc. There are numerous transportation issues citizens face, such as people from rural areas cannot easily commute to the cities. However, with this new budget, there will be new road projects which will, in turn, create many jobs and make commutation easier.  President Biden also aims to lower the harmful emissions from conventional vehicles by installing charging points for Electric Vehicles that do not use petrol, such as Tesla. Aiming to go green on the roads is a good initiative. Biden has come up with more such initiatives whose main purpose is to create jobs and keep the environment clean. Many people complain that they are not qualified to do certain jobs, but the new government has been investing in teaching the right skills

What is Causing Climate Change? What is Climate Change?

Image
istock photo With increased globalization and development around the world, it is no surprise that humans are leaving big footprints on the planet. Our existence has indeed harmed the atmosphere of the planet. Scientists have been telling people to take climate change very seriously since the 20 th century. They have been blaming the "greenhouse effect" – the rise in temperature that happens when the atmosphere traps the heat radiation from the planet towards space. We should also strive to develop a green community to cancel out some of the effects we are causing. But before we dive deeper into the matter, we need to understand climate change. What is climate change? Climate change is an overall change in the usual patterns of a weather system that also results in changes in the oceans, land surfaces, and glaciers. Climate change is a change in the statistical properties of a climate system that is happening for years or decades, usually for about 30 years.  Evidence s

What does it mean to be Net Zero?

Image
Humans have advanced in technology and achieved globalization. However, much of it came at a price. We compromised on our planet's health and left behind huge human footprints. Today we are going through the aftermath of industrialization and are seeing a change in our climatic conditions. Our planet is becoming warmer than usual, which is not ideal for the planet and humankind.  Industries like the conventional construction industry are contributing largely to the overall climate change, which is why we need energy-efficient real estate to combat these issues. The conventional buildings are known to embody carbon that comes from the material used and the construction process itself. This carbon needs to be reduced down by using environmentally friendly materials and renewable energy in the construction process. Tackling climate change is one of the top priorities worldwide, and one way that can be done is by reaching net zero. But before we dive in deeper, we need to know about ne

Sustainable Cities and Communities: Goal #11

Image
In the world that we are in today, there is constant development everywhere around us. The real estate industry has been booming with new projects around the cities to make living easier, accessible to everyone. However, what we need at the moment are sustainable communities that have very little to no impact on the environment. As you can see, when there is development, there are certain costs associated with it. Often time's development takes place at the expense of our environment. That is why measures should be taken to make these developments environmentally friendly.  Relevant issues to sustainable urban development Big cities are a centre point for where all the ideas are generated. There are issues, such as business operations, more human interaction, water management, waste management, education, urban planning, transport, and others that need to be considered while planning for sustainable urban development.  Global population stats In 2008 , it was seen that the urban

Benefits of Sustainable Real Estate Development: Environmental Reasons for Building Green

Image
With globalization and the increase in population, there have been numerous developments around the world. There are new inventions, new industries, and new infrastructure being developed around the world that have been very useful to humankind. But have you ever wondered at what cost are we getting all these utilities? Amid all these advancements, the major sufferer has been the planet Earth. We are leaving behind large footprints that are slowly destroying our planet.  Yes, those high-rise buildings look fabulous, but all of those come with a downside, which is damaging the environment. But we cannot stop these developments because they are a necessity, we do need homes and proper real estate infrastructure to live and function, but we can do all of that by building green. Sustainable construction is not all about building with a low environmental impact; it is a new approach in the building sector that betters people's living and building. The benefits of sustainable constructio

What are Opportunity Zones?

Image
Are you looking for the perfect opportunity to invest in real estate? If you’re looking to construct a new home anywhere in the U.S., you'll need to pay a lot of taxes. Well, anywhere except opportunity zones. In this blog, we will tell you exactly what opportunity zones are and why you should consider investing in them. Opportunity Zones Defined Opportunity zones are economically distressed areas where investors are given leniency in taxes to encourage them to invest more. Opportunity zones were added to the United States tax code in December 2017 under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act ( TCJA ). The governors of each state are responsible for designating opportunity zones in that state. Each state can designate up to 25% of eligible census tracts as opportunity zones. As of right now, all 50 states and Puerto Rico have submitted and have been approved for designated opportunity zones.  Furthermore, if you wish to see a list of all opportunity zones, click here .
